Fox And Friends: Americans Marry Other Species

CIA's former bin Laden expert: "The only chance we have as a country right now is for Osama bin Laden to deploy and detonate a major weapon in the United States." A bit more substantial, as these things go, was the Glenn Beck interview with a CIA creep where the (Michael Scheure) suggesting that a new 9/11 would whip us Americans back into shape.

Also in that realm lying in the gray area of matters of import, lies a furor over Obama Hitler signs admist the Tea-bag gathering vaguely associated with Republicans. It is the bizarro version of the Republican chomping at a couple of moveon.org “Bush Hitler” videos in a sea of moveon.org contest entries. This would be worth pushing to the side, except that the “Obama Hitler” is in the water — in Marylandand that ends all well and good enough, I suppose , in Georgiadrawn back to attention with this ad, from Saturday Night Live alumnis – I don’t think Victoria Jackson is going to follow in the footsteps of Al Franken anytime soon, and from Oklahoma.

Obama-Hitler analogy draws an apology…Head of Arundel GOP group says posting a 'poor choice'

Editorial: 'Hitler' Remark Makes Broun Irrelevant In D.C.

Athens Banner-Herald | Story updated at 6:05 pm on 07/10/09

Congressman Paul Broun, who represents Northeast Georgia in the U.S. House of Representatives, is a man so bereft of original ideas and so incapable of reasoned thought that, less than a week after being returned to Washington by the electorate, he's been reduced to comparing this nation's incoming Democratic president to Adolf Hitler.

Last week the group Our Country Deserves Better PAC released audio from a planned television advertisement campaign urging supporters to contribute to the organization to purchase airtime. The video was released yesterday as promised but without any television airdates as the fundraising effort apparently failed.

While the ad makes a passing reference to an unnamed Congressman’s comparison of Obama policies to Hitler’s, the primary focus is the assertion that Obama is no different than Iranian President Ahmadinejad. Yesterday anti-Obama celebrity Chuck Norris claimed in a column that Iran was a progressive democracy under the Shah. Norris denigrated Obama’s policies comparing him to Jimmy Carters for the naïve promotion of human rights. Despite the fact that the Shah of Iran like the former Bush administration supported policies employing torture, there is no record of anti-Bush liberal groups running advertisements comparing Bush to the Shah. Apparently even the group’s supporters found the video’s claims too outrageous to support.

US (ChattahBox) - Proving that she has no actual grasp on any of the current political hot topics, former-SNL star Victoria Jackson has posted a paranoid, almost laughable rant on the Big Hollywood blog. (http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/vjackson/2009/07/07/ignorance-is-bliss/#idc-ctools )

The rant (which can be read here) is so full of incoherent, ridiculous claims that it reads like a mission statement from a hospital-bound fundamentalist.

According to Victoria, Obama is pushing for practically mandatory late-term abortions. She apparently told a sales lady this during a shopping trip where she never actually bought anything; Victoria was just there to tell the sales staff that Obama kills babies.

She also claims that a public health system is ‘euthanasia’ for a population that is strained under Medicare and Social Securityhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/mag-glass_10x10.gif. That’s right, Obama is scheming to kill off out grandparents as well. Apparently, if you live in a country like Germany, or Britain, or Sweden, you will die of breast cancer as you wait for paperwork to be submitted.

But my favorite part was this little tidbit I will quote here:

“Obama legally kills babies and now he can legally kill Grandmas!

Hitler did this. He killed the weak, the sick, the old, and babies and races/religions he didn’t like. Hitler also controlled the media.”

I can appreciate that Jackson doesn’t like Obama. I am fine with the fact that she disagrees with his policies. But at some point those who rally behind diatribes like this will have to face the fact that this kind of offensive rant doesn’t further their cause.

It is the same with Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and countless other talking heads that use shock value to make points that have no basis in truth.

In the end, political groups that have been asking Jackson to speak at their rallies may want to take a moment and think about whether or not it will help their cause or hurt it. Because irrational drivel like that above will ultimately isolate the sane from the psycho, and what will be left standing won’t be fit to get anything done.

Contrary to reports, South Carolina is not giving us Obama Hitler comparisons. Jim DeMint compared Obama to the social democrats who came before Hitler – either Philipp Scheidemann or Paul von Hindenburg, I guess.

Those matters out of the way, we can now turn our attention to the matters that really matter. For instance, was Obama looking at a French girl’s butt? AND… how about the seedy details of John Ensign’s sex scandal, and how it figures into other sex scandals?

The things… that really matter. Those people have been chewing too much funny cactus.

I'll stop looking when I'm blind or dead, and that's a fact!

SPLC Urges Congress to Investigate Extremism in the Military

The Southern Poverty Law Center today urged Congress to investigate growing evidence that racial extremists are infiltrating the U.S. military and take steps to ensure that the armed forces are not inadvertently training future domestic terrorists.

In a letter to committee chairmen with oversight over homeland security and the armed services, the SPLC said it recently found dozens of personal profiles on a neo-Nazi website where individuals listed "military" as their occupation — the latest evidence of extremist infiltration gathered by the SPLC. It also cites FBI and Department of Homeland Security reports supporting the SPLC's concerns.

"Evidence continues to mount that current Pentagon policies are inadequate to prevent racial extremists from joining and serving in the armed forces," SPLC founder Morris Dees wrote. He added, "Because the presence of extremists in the armed forces is a serious threat to the safety of the American public, we believe Congressional action is warranted."

The letter was sent to the chairmen of the House and Senate committees on Homeland Security and Armed Services. The SPLC has raised its concerns with Pentagon officials since publishing a report in 2006, but no apparent action has been taken.

In recent months, SPLC investigators found approximately 40 personal profiles that listed "military" as an occupation on the Internet forum New Saxon, which is operated by the neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement. One individual, who claims to be serving in Afghanistan, lists as his favorite book The Turner Diaries, which was written by neo-Nazi leader William Pierce. The book served as a blueprint for the Oklahoma City bombing by Gulf War veteran Timothy McVeigh. Another individual said he was about to be deployed overseas and was looking forward to "killing all the bloody sand niggers." Still another spoke of his hatred for undocumented immigrants.

The SPLC has been involved with this issue for more than two decades. In 1986, the SPLC presented evidence to Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger that Marines were participating in Ku Klux Klan paramilitary activities and urged him to prohibit all military personnel from being members of, or participating in, the activities of white supremacist groups. Although Weinberger issued a directive addressing extremist activity, it ultimately proved inadequate.

The SPLC again brought the problem to the attention of Pentagon officials in 1996, after three neo-Nazi soldiers stationed at Fort Bragg murdered a black couple in North Carolina in a ritualistic, racially motivated slaying. Pentagon regulations were strengthened following an investigation by an Army task force and hearings by the House Armed Services Committee.

But a decade later, military recruiters, under intense pressure to meet quotas for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, appear to have lowered recruiting standards, according to the SPLC's 2006 report. The report revealed that large numbers of neo-Nazi skinheads and other white supremacists were joining the armed forces to acquire combat training and access to weapons and explosives.

In 2008, the FBI released an unclassified report that supported the SPLC's findings. This past April, the Department of Homeland Security issued a report stating that right-wing extremists currently pose the most significant threat of domestic terrorism and expressing the concern that they may attempt to exploit the combat training and experience of returning veterans.

The SPLC letter notes that since 1994 the military has discharged more than 12,500 service members simply because of their homosexuality. "It seems quite anomalous that the Pentagon would consider homosexuals more of a threat to the good order of the military than neo-Nazis and other white supremacists who reject our Constitution's most cherished principles," said Mark Potok, director of the SPLC's Intelligence Project, which monitors extremist activity.

The letter also says that "the overwhelming majority of U.S. service members reject extremism and are dedicated to serving and protecting the highest ideals of our country" and notes that there will never be a fail-safe system to weed out all extremists. "But we owe it to our courageous men and women in uniform, and the American public, to remain vigilant to ensure that the ranks are as free of extremists as possible," Dees wrote.

Hard-hitting, incendiary, and unfortunately true — uncomfortable as that is. People need to wake up, stand up, and take back this country. We are losing our rights and liberties, the Constitution has been shredded, and a don’t-ask-because-we-won’t-tell corporate (ie fascist) dictatorship is being erected.
